Details
Power and Sail are very excited to bring to market one of only three built 35' expedition catamarans. Custom designed with every final detail cleverly thought out, these Cat's were designed to be towed across the country - that's right, the Sale of this Vessel includes a tri-axle trailer!
With a better layout than the Bertram or Caribbean 35 (and probably better oceangoing capacity too!) this 35' will sleep 8 comfortably, cruise economically and have you fishing with stability!
Symmetrical berthing forward provides a large double and generous single to each side, the downstairs helm is central with an open window providing very impressive visibility for those long cruises.
Coming aft, the Galley and Saloon open right up, the settee collapses to make the 3rd double of this Vessel and a large door opens you to the expansive cockpit.
A standing height head, located in the Cockpit (I prefer this position to downstairs), on the port side you have a 250L eutectic fridge with two compressors allowing this unit to be a fridge, freezer or salt water brine tank.
The cockpit is huge as is the marlin board which you have access to from both sides. A kill tank sits beneath the transom box, along with storage and air vents for the engine bays.
Upstairs bench seating provides comfortable seating for 4 facing forward and another 4 facing aft. Both helms are fitted with Furuno Autopilot, Furuno Navnet Radar, GPS and Plotter units. The downstairs helm has flow-scan for fuel tracking and active fuel burn.
Motors are Yanmar 6LPA which is the land cruiser 100 series engine - easy to work on and best of all incredibly reliable. At 17.5 knots we were using 70 litres per hour. Wide open throttle we achieved 25 knots and the fuel flow caps off at 60 litres per side.
Both legs have been replaced with new in the last 6 years, Stem 2 Stern doing the work.
This is a very clever boat, Custom built for her first fastidious owner, who monitored the whole process. There is storage in every possible space on this boat, uncommon for Cats of this size. The boat is circa 6T (fully loaded) and trailer 2T, although we wouldn't recommend it a 100 series has pulled this up the ramp before! Previous owner towed around with a 5.5T Mazda and had no issues.
This boat has performed in seriously rough stuff, it's stable, economical, reliable and feels a lot bigger than a 35'.
She compares well to a Bertram 35, out performs the Leisurecat 3500 and is much more comfortable than the aluminium counterparts in this size.
For $250,000 you get a boat you can tow up to Exmouth in the winter months, Tow to Esperance over Christmas or can leave at Rotto over Summer. Incredibly capable and definitely worth an inspection.
